Whether or not that Countries elections were free and fair are for the citizens of that Country and International organisations like the UN, not greedy warmongering billionaires and trillionaires drooling over the amount of oil in that Country. You (I certainly would) argue that the UK (and US) governments are fixed as democracy is so easy to manipulate with National security Powers and deliberate mis-counts. you can just as easily say that Zelensky's regime is illegitimate, because it was instigated by a Western backed coup. that still doesn't give the Russians the right to invade. you can't pick and choose who is allowed to use armed aggression against a another State and for what reason?
