What would William have to gain by bringing down this Battenburg? If there were no legal bar to William ascending, it wouldn't make a jot of difference whether Andrew was a Royal or not. Once the Crown passes William and his illegitimate heirs, the next in line is Harry. However (if not for me) the Battenburgs would try every trick in the book to pass the crown to Andrew (Battenburg) instead of Harry and the blackmail would just continue. That can't happen now!
