So Israel has made their predictable response to the Pontiff's remarks, citing the events of October 7th. No one is denying (not even the Pope) is denying that atrocities were committed against civilians on that now historic day but can this terrible treatment of Palestinian civilians, more than a year later really be justified by that single event? Especially when you consider that, the attackers were living under a decades long brutal and oppressive occupation. They were not combatants from a sovereign State that's not under Israeli occupation! Also what about the Palestinian civilians in the West Bank who played no part in October 7th?
