When that F15 got shot down, preceded by a state of the art F35 getting hit (but escaping), denying the US (and Israel) air superiority to carpet bomb with those ancient sitting duck B52's. It's my belief that Iran has sophisticated manually operated Chinese surface to air missiles. Something that Lebanon desperately needs as well!
It's also why they're having to use their sophisticated but expensive (and finite) ship launched Tomahawk missiles instead of guided dumb bombs dropped from aircraft.
