What he should have said was that the UK SHOULD have stayed well clear of the US and Israel's illegal attempt to militarily encircle Iran by invading Iraq and Afghanistan.

I take it what he really means is that no Countries from continental Europe were silly enough to participate in that pro Israeli folly. America was NOT under attack from a hostile state. I doubt if any State was or is silly or strong enough to attack the United States, so article 5 is NOT an issue.
America was attacked by terrorists (9/11) not a State. From what I can gather that terrorist organisation (Bin Laden) hailed from Saudi Arabia, but the US was never going to attack them with all their oil, no they were looking for an excuse to invade Afghanistan and Iraq on behalf of Israel, so they came up with the flimsy excuse that Bin Laden had once fought in Afghanistan (on behalf of the US) against Russia!

This is a political, not a military issue! No one (not even Trump) is doubting that our troops are brave and well disciplined and fully trust that their political masters are doing the right thing, the problem arises when you get a rogue maniac like Bliar getting into power, not through democracy but a loophole in national security powers thanks to a blackmailed Monarchy! British troops should never have been ordered into Afghanistan or Iraq!

I can guarantee you that, that brinkmanship with Iran was to get Arab leaders to drop their opposition to that madman (Bliar) getting on that board!

Bliar was kept in power by the (loyal to Battenbergs) Tory party putting up inappropriate right wing or Jewish leaders to oppose him, rendering these powers (to replace him) useless.
He Bliar did the exact same thing only the other way round by enabling inappropriate left winger Corbyn and electing Jewish leader Milliband to keep Pro Israeli Tories in power by denying these powers a credible alternative. They (Bliar and the Battenbergs) who are in the same boat over Diana's murder have the two main parties all sown up!
There are now rumours that the Labour party is trying to block, non Bliarite Burnham from being selected as a candidate in upcoming by-election.
