To deter unprovoked attacks against member States as all other members are obliged to come to the victim state's aid.

It is NOT an offensive alliance to mount unprovoked and unlawful attacks on sovereign states on behalf of Israel and a blackmailed US President!

However, if you want to use that as an excuse to withdraw from or disband NATO, go ahead! Just don't forget to take your occupation forces with you. European Countries can form their own defence alliance!

I would also advise middle Eastern and Arab Countries to STOP relying on Israel & the US for their security (as they have self interested ulterior motives) and start forming your own defensive alliance.

Israel & America can form their own alliance, although I would hesitate to call it defensive! Who knows what they should call it?

If there were no US forces or bases in middle Eastern Countries, that conflict would have been completely different as it would have been confined to Iran, Israel & US Naval forces in the region!

In fact the US did Iran a favour giving them targets that were just a stones throw away as Israel is difficult for them (Iran) to hit without a competitive air force!
