...but it's absolutely OK to be occupied (and influenced) by tens of thousands of hostile foreign (US) troops who just happen (coincidentally) to be at war with Iran!.

I am willing to bet that Iran is more interested in the American occupation forces in Europe (that may attack them), than they are in Europe itself.
