There is a lot of talk of how commercial aircraft can't fly over the middle east, causing damage to economies.

Here's a screenshot from flightradar of air traffic over central Africa, the rest of the continent is similar, remember there are no (out of the ordinary) conflicts in Africa.

Now lets compare that to Europe (US is even heavier)
