Trump thinks he can just wrestle away control of the strategic strait instead of negotiating an equitable deal. I don't fancy his chances of removing that powerful card from Iranian hands by force given Iran's proximity to that strait!

He (Trump) can't stop Iran's retaliatory attacks against American bases as far away as Jordan, what chance does he have of stopping them from attacking (in their minds) unlawful shipping traffic a stones throw from their shores?

Not only that, the average oil tanker does not have patriot anti missile batteries on board, nor can they swerve suddenly to avoid an incoming missile or drones.

I've said it before there is NO military solution to the strait of Hormuz issue, only a diplomatic one! However with Trump blackmailed by the (we demand capitulation) Zionists, diplomacy remains a pipe dream.
